Looking for new date ideas or a fun evening out with girls? Want to swap up your cinema experience and get some good instagrams at the same time? Does venturing through a magical wardrobe or ball pit to the cinema sound exciting? Well, Look no further…
The magical and Instagramable ‘backyard cinema’ is something that you must experience. Keep reading to find out more. Shh, it’s a secret!
Recently, I spotted something called the Backyard cinema. It came up as an advert on Instagram and it looked amazing! An Instagramable cinema experience with a unique way of entry…
There’s two different versions available, a snow kingdom in which you enter the cinema via a ball pit or the winter night garden which you enter via a wardrobe like Narnia! Both sound amazing and show similar movies but on various afternoons and evenings. From Lion King to Harry Potter…
I chose the snow kingdom as going through a ball-pit sounded like great fun! Looked great for Instagram too although both are made to take pictures for social platforms… aesthetically pleasing experiences.

To get to the ball pit you need to enter a quaint shop called Dr Portelli’s…

The shop had massive Harry Potter vibes with many books, potions and what looked like wand boxes. I loved it, even the music playing was magical!

Once inside the shop you need to find the secret entrance which will lead you to the magical ball pit corridor and door to the cinema…

After passing through the magical and aesthetic pall pit corridor, you enter the door to the cinema. Time to get cosy on the beanbags, grab a drink, some popcorn and enjoy the movie! There’s a bar and toilets!

We chose to watch the wonderful Dirty Dancing. A favourite of mine! Tickets were £18.99 for normal bean bags and £23.99 for premium bean bags with head rests. Student discounts are available! There was plenty of room and the bean bags were super comfortable.

Oh Patrick… always looking so damn gorgeous…
The backyard cinema is open until the end of February and then it closes to set up two new themes for the summer time. I’ve heard rumours of a beach theme with real sand and tropical vibes… I can’t wait to go back soon!
