Hello everybody and welcome back to a new blog post.
It’s getting to that time of year where we are all getting prepared to head back to school or university. I too will be heading back to university this year to complete my master’s in Digital Marketing. I’m here to help you in the next month with some tips and advice as part of a (4 part) blog series.
Welcome to University Essentials #1 ~ Paperclip
Paperclip provides an online marketplace for universities across the UK.
This is a free platform where students can buy and sell their textbooks, clothes, gig tickets, and more. Unlike most online marketplaces you pay no selling fees. You can use the website or download their free app available from the iOS app or android store. Both are easy to use.
This year to make up for the lack of freshers week, Paperclip are offering freshers students a free digital welcome pack which includes a huge amount of deals for brands such as Uber Eats, Amazon, Ola, etc. How incredible is that? By signing up for the free Digital Welcome Pack you can save up to £3,000 at your favorite brands.
It’s easy to sign up via the app or webpage. You can choose a profile picture, username, university, and location. As I said, the app and service are 100% free with no sales fee.

There are also recommended groups to join for example; University-specific, course-specific, beauty lovers, car enthusiasts, and gig-goers.
There is a free section on the app where students and Paperclip give away free items that may otherwise go to waste. Items such as Shampoo, A floating drink holder, pillowcase, picture frames, and more are available. Home decor to make your student accommodation feel just like home.
I will definitely be looking into buying textbooks, clothes, and hopefully gig tickets from here in the future once I start my master’s course. I think it’s incredible that this is a free service with 0 selling fees like most online marketplaces and platforms. The fact you get discounts too is perfect for students with, let’s be honest, not much income and/or money!

Let me know if you use this app and your thoughts? I honestly think this is a great service and essential for a new university student.
