Hi everyone, it’s been a while since I wrote a blog post and I have to be honest. I’ve really missed it! I love writing and always have, I love the kind community of followers on my blog and fellow pink addicts. I think it’s time we had a catch-up. I have a few things to update you on and talk about.
You guys know the drill – get cosy, grab a hot drink and delicious snack. Happy reading!

Hello and welcome back to a new blog post – a very long overdue catch-up! It feels so good to be writing a blog post again and updating you all. I have been unforgivably quiet recently however, I do have a good reason for it. A few good reasons actually which I will tell you about in this post. Do you have a hot drink and yummy snack? Are you snuggled up or cosy? If not, you best fix that before we have a catch-up and chit chat.
It’s been a tough year for us all. I promise this blog post will be the last time that I discuss the dreaded and over discussed pandemic. The past year and a bit have felt like something out of a sci-fi movie, Contagion to be precise. I actually watched this movie as the start of this pandemic… oh how naive I was. That was started in China too…
Anyway, I am rambling. Earlier today I was looking through my blog post in which I updated you all when I finished my undergraduate degree. I remember writing:
“Although I’m not a masters graduate yet as he keeps reminding me … Not yet anyway?! Who knows, I could be one day.”
I graduted university blog post

I liked the idea of doing a Masters after a year of work however, I wasn’t sure that it was for me or an investment in myself that I would ever make. Rather than fighting the economy that was on the down during the pandemic, I decided it was the perfect time to at least apply for that Masters that I had been thinking about. I applied to two universities in London. I received an offer from a better university to my huge surprise – Kings College London?!
Just like that, I knew what my next chapter was and I was excited. A year of solid hard work, online teaching, next to no social life or cuddles from my boyfriend thanks to Covid and it’s over. Just like that, a year has gone by so quickly and I have completed a Masters… it’s still sinking in I think?! I am incredibly proud of myself. It was a lot of hard work, especially during a pandemic with multiple online difficulties and faults.

I wouldn’t change my decision to do a Masters ever or take it back. I had a lot of fun, enjoyed learning, meeting fellow students from around the world and learning about their lives and pandemic situations. This is your sign to apply for that Masters degree if you’re thinking about it. Of course, it will be a lot of hard work but not without rewards in the end. No pain, no gain as my boyfriend likes to remind me at the gym…
Oh yeah, I’ve joined a gym again after three years too! I am actually quite enjoying it, I lift heavy (heavy for me = 35KG) weight. The gym has been so good for my confidence and mental health. I must say though, I am glad for my boyfriend showing me what to do and how to do it properly. Thank you to his friend Fish too! Wouldn’t want him to feel left out. Join the gym too if you’re thinking about that, you will thank yourself later.
Since finishing my Master’s two weeks ago I have been quite busy catching up with friends and partaking in fun activities. I went to GOApe in Thetford and jumped out of trees, met my besties beautiful girlfriend (It was so lovely to meet you!) hiked in local nature, travelled into central London for the first time in forever (by myself yesterday too), hugged my grandparents, hugged and kissed my boyfriend (many many many times = TMI). It has been so lovely to just live again and do fun things after a year of solid, hard work.
Oh, I got my helix re-pierced too and thanks to some money from family. I treated myself to some jewellery that I have wanted for honestly so long. A diamond ring from Maria Tash in Liberties. I now have a diamond permanently attached to my ear, diamonds are a girl’s best friend after all. There’s a picture below and you can shop my exact earring by clicking HERE. Yes, it was very much so a treat yourself moment, why not!
Since finishing my Masters, I have also tried to vlog as much as I can here and there. Keep your eyes peeled on my YouTube channel for that. If you aren’t already, make sure to subscribe for free so that you don’t miss any content!
My Master’s and the pandemic has taught me a lot. I found myself at times, working too hard and long without breaks and getting burned out. Don’t forget to drop and breathe, drink water, smell the flowers. Regular breaks are so important for both mental and physical health. It’s okay to not be productive 24/7, Social Media, Linked In and the media make it seem like a failure to have a break sometimes – NOT TRUE! It is okay!
