Body Shop’s new face mask review

Hi Guys,

Recently the Body Shop were kind enough to send me a sample of three of their new face masks. I was sent the; Ginseng & rice polish mask, British rose plumping mask, Himalayan charcoal purifying mask.

I thought that I would give you a little treat of an extra post this month and review these luxurious masks!

Each mask claims to do something slightly different to you skin;

Ginseng & rice polish mask

“Give your skin a new lease of life with our Chinese Ginseng and Rice Clarifying Polishing Mask. Inspired by Chinese traditions, we have blended ginseng extract, rice extract and sesame seed oil into our 100% vegetarian creamy exfoliating mask, that has been formulated without parabens, paraffin, silicone or mineral oil. My Reviews

I tried the multi-tasking method so that I could try out all three face masks at once.

I put the Clay mask on my forehead and down my nose to get rid of pores and blackheads followed by the rice mask on my chin and around my mouth to smooth and get rid of pores and then the British Rose mask on my cheeks to plump them.

I love all of the masks because they each promise something different and deliver. The clay mask definitely detoxed my forehead and nose of blackhead, the rose mask plumped my cheeks and the rice mask clarified and cleared up my chin.

The instructions were to apply all masks and wait 15 minutes for them to try, as you can see from the gif above the mask dried very quickly and the clay mask turned a pale green colour as it dried.

My skin is very sensitive so I was very cautious with these masks but they’re ever so gentle whilst still doing a brilliant job at really clearing out and plumping your skin.

These masks are all vegetarian, not tested on animals and affordable at £16

Summer skincare essentials that you need

Hi Guys,

With summer finally coming to England it’s so important to make sure that you’re looking after your skin and wearing SPF so I thought that I would share my favourite skincare essentials for summer. These are all affordable and easily accessible products that are perfect for protecting your skin from the sun’s harsh rays and the summer chemicals that you may encounter such as chlorine and salt water.

Before I apply anything to my skin I make sure it’s clean.

In order to cleanse and clean my skin, I use Garnier’s Micellar cleansing gel. This is a gel-like texture that you rub into your skin in order to melt away any makeup and dirt from your skin. I love how satisfying this is to use, you can see all of the dirt and old makeup come off on the cotton pad! So gross but so satisfying.

You can get this product from Boots or Superdrug at an affordable price of £2.66 from boots and £3.99 from Superdrug.

Secondly, I apply a brightening serum to keep my face fresh and plump ready for the summer.

I am currently using Origins skin renewal serum. This serum claims to brighten, plump and de-stress your skin which is both perfect for summer and a student. I love this product for all year around especially for summer to keep my skin bright and glowing.

You can buy this serum from John Lewis for £32.50 and I promise you it’s worth every penny – after just one week I notice the effects of how bright and plump my skin looked.

Thirdly, I will apply a brightening moisturiser which is again perfect for summer.

Currently, I am using Sanctuary’s Illuminating moisturiser which has SPF 15 too so this is a must have for summer. Looking after you skin in the sunlight is so important to save your skin from harsh chemicals and ageing.

This product claims to brighten your skin in order to keep it young and plump. I agree that this product does exactly that without being tacky and sinking in fast.

You can buy this moisturiser from Boots for £14.50.

Fourthly I will apply an eye cream to keep dark circles at bay to again achieve that bright and plump look for the summer time that I am going for.

I am currently using Body Shop’s brightening eye cream. This eye cream claims to keep dark circles at bay. The eye cream works by using red algae extract which is harvested from the North Atlantic to keep your under eyes bright and illuminated. The eye cream also uses vitamin C, minerals and nutrients to benefit your under eye bags.

You can get this from The Body Shop for £20.00 – a little goes a long way with this product making it cost effective!

Finally, I will use a moisturising facial spray to lock in my skincare.

I may be a bit late to the bandwagon with this but recently I have been using Kiehl’s cactus flow spray. This spray smells amazingly fresh and spa like. It’s a light spray that claims to give your skin an instant boost whilst keeping your skin smooth and jewey.

This spray is quite pricey at £28 but the spray lasts a long time as a little goes a long way so I’m more than happy to invest in this spray to keep my skin bright for summer.

I’ve been using it a tonne and it’s hardly gone down at all so I believe that I will have this spray for quite a while making it very affordable for what you get.

I really hope that you guys enjoyed this blog post.
